Navy finds abandoned dinghy in Erakkandi Beach

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Naval Personnel found an abandoned dinghy in the beach area of Erakkkandi on Tuesday (07).

A group of Naval Personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during routine patrol, spotted a suspicious dinghy abandoned in the Erakkandi beach yesterday. During preliminary investigation, the Naval Personnel also recovered 118 kilogrammes of fish caught using explosive, 2 non-electric detonators, fishing net, and an outboard motor left behind.

The stock of fish, dinghy, outboard motor, non-electric detonators, fishing net, and other fishing gear were handed over to the Kuchchaweli Police for onward investigation.
