(UTV|COLOMBO) – In the annual inter-divisional secretariat athletic championship among the 14 division in the Batticaloa district, Manmunai North Secretarial Division emerged champion with 44 medals.
The Batticaloa district sports festival -2019 was held at the Weber Stadium, Batticaloa on Saturday, organized by the district secretariat and presided over by the Batticaloa Government Agent M. Uthayakumar. The Manmunai South Eruvil Pattu Kaluwanchikudy divisional secretariat secured second place with 17 medals and Manmunai Pattu Arayampathy divisional secretariat came in third place with 13 medals.
In the inter-departmental athletic championship worked off at the same venue, the Police department came first with 247 points. Manmunai North Divisional Secretariat secured second place with 142 points and the Koralai Pattu Valaichchenai secretarial division secured third place with 117 points.
Batticaloa District Parliamentarian Alizahir Mowlana, Eastern province Army Commander Major General Anura Jeyasegara, ASP Batticaloa R. Kumarasiri, Deputy Mayor Batticaloa Municipal Council K.Sathiyaseelan, Additional Government Agent Navarubaranjani and divisional secretaries were present and distributed the medals and trophies.
