Letter distribution recommences

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The distribution of letters and parcels that accumulated in a backlog due to the 48 hour postal strike has re-commenced.

Employees at the Central Mail Exchange decided to call off the trade union action following successful talks with Minister of Postal Service’s AHM Haleem and returned to work at 9pm yesterday.

Convenor of the Joint Postal Trade Union Chinthaka Bandara speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle said the mail backlog will be distributed within two days.
