(UTV|COLOMBO) – A man and a woman have been arrested for intimidating an individual they met via Facebook.
The two suspects were arrested following a complaint lodged at the the South West Crimes Division.
The 28 year old female is a resident of Ratnapura while the 28 year old male is a resident of Moratuwa.
It was revealed the female suspect had extorted over Rs.2.4 million on several occasions by threatening to release nude photographs taken with the complainant online.
The couple have been handed over to the Mirihana Police for further investigations.
The duo will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today.
