(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United National Party (UNP) to hold its Convention on 03 October, Minister Harsha De Silva tweeted today (26).

Besides nomination of @sajithpremadasa we will put forward two more proposals to the @officialunp convention. 1. Continue to move forward our agenda on devolution, executive presidency n parliament electoral reforms. 2. Appreciate @KaruOnline 52 day stand on #SriLanka democracy.

De Silva stated that 2 proposals will be put forth at the UNP Convention in addition to announcing the unanimous decision of the Working Committee on the Presidential candidacy of its Deputy Leader, Minister Sajith Premadasa at the forthcoming Presidential Election.
First proposal will be the continuation of the UNP’s agenda on devolution of power, the Executive Presidency, and Parliament electoral reforms, and the other will be focused on appreciating the Speaker of the Parliament Karu Jayasuriya’s dedication to protecting democracy in the country during last year’s Constitutional coup.
