(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (02) handed over several developments completed under “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” district development programme.
President declared open the water pump station and the tower in Kaduruwela established in order provide safe drinking water to the public under Polonnaruwa Water Supply Project.
Polonnaruwa Water Supply Project has been implemented at a cost of Rs. 2240 million covering Polonnaruwa New Town, Old Town, Kaduruwela and suburb areas.
The Sevanapitiya Aquaculture Development Center built at a cost of Rs. 430 million under “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” Programme was also declared open by the President.
Then the President participated to hand over Rathmalkandiya Health Center constructed to provide enhanced medical facilities to the public. Rs. 110 has been spent on this programme.
Then Siripura Govijana Seva Center built at a cost of Rs. 17 million was vested with the public by the President.
The Mudunkadawala Health Center constructed at a cost of Rs. 110 million was also declared open by the President.
Then the President participated to hand over the renovated monastery with Rs. 2.5 million at Nikawathalanda Sri Purwarama Viharaya.
The newly constructed Dhamma School building at Sri Visuddharama Vihara in Aralaganvila was also vested with the student by the President.
The Chief Incumbent of Dimbulagala Maha Kashyapa Maha Pirivena Ven. Devagala Devalankara Nayaka Thero and Maha Sanga, Governor of the North Central Province Saratha Ekanayake, Mayor Chanaka Sidatha Ranasinghe and several others were present on the occasion.
