(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian S. B. Dissanayake today (08) stated that the Police are conducting a proper investigation on the shooting incident in Ginigathhena which involved his security detail.
Dissanayake made this remarks during an interview with the UTV News Hour programme hosted by Senior Journalist Rushdy Nizar.
Two Ministerial Security Division (MSD) constables attached to Dissanayake’s security detail, arrested in connection with Wednesday’s (06) shooting incident in Polpitiya, Ginigathhena, were remanded until 11 November by the Hatton District Court yesterday (07).
The 2 Security Personnel had allegedly opened fire at some individuals for obstructing the vehicle that Dissanayake was travelling on Wednesday night.
However, Dissanayake insisted that he was not inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
