(UDHAYAM, MALAYSIA) – The search for the Malaysian plane that disappeared in 2014 has been suspended.
In a joint statement, Australia, Malaysia and China said the decision was taken with “sadness” after more than 120,000 sq km (46,300 miles) had been searched with no success.
They remained hopeful new information would enable the aircraft to be found in the future.
The Boeing 777 disappeared while flying to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur with 239 people on board in March 2014.
