(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Several railway trade unions have decided to engage in an island-wide trade union action from midnight Tuesday (20).
The trade union action will be launched seeking several demands including issues surrounding salary anomalies and the increase of welfare payments, and to accelerate the appointment process by assigning the Engine Drivers’ duties to the Co-Drivers.
The Railway Trade Union Alliance, the All Ceylon Railway General Employees’ Union and the Railway Guards’ Union are among those involved.
