(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Mark Ruffalo has succeeded where Eric Bana and Ed Norton failed in making Marvel Comics character Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk into a well-formed screen character.
In fact, Ruffalo has earned such a fanbase in the role since the first “Avengers” there’s been clamouring for him to get his own standalone film. However, speaking at Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday, he tells Variety it won’t happen, “I want to just make one thing perfectly clear today: A standalone ‘Hulk’ movie will never happen. Universal has the rights, and for some reason, they don’t know how to play well with Marvel. And, they don’t want to make money.”
It effectively sounds like Marvel & Universal couldn’t reach an agreement in the way Sony’s partnership with Marvel has succeeded. As a result, Hulk will be sticking to “Avengers” and other Marvel heroes films such as this year’s “Thor: Ragnarok”.
