President appeals railway employees to call off strike

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena on Monday (11) requested the employees of Sri Lanka Railways including engine drivers to report for duty considering the inconvenience faced by the school children facing the GCE Ordinary Level examination and the general public, a statement issued by Presidential Media Division said.

The President requested all parties concerned to pay attention on the mentality of the students when facing a crucial examination for higher education and carry out their duty with responsibility. The President said that he is ready to give an opportunity to those who are on strike to discuss their unresolved issues.
