(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Defence Services Hockey men’s and women’s teams bagged the titles at the 59th ‘Senior National Hockey Championship’ which was held at the artificial hockey turf in Colombo recently.
Representing the Sri Lanka Navy 4 male and 9 female players were included in the Defence Services Hockey teams.
Women Ordinary Seaman GGG Damayanthi of Sri Lanka Navy was adjudged the Best Player (Women) of the tournament. A number of hockey players from the Navy are qualified to represent both men’s and women’s Defence Services Hockey teams and its women’s team was captained by an athlete from the Navy.
