The 2018 Oscar Winners

(UTV|COLOMBO) – It’s Oscars time with the 90th Academy Awards having just been held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.

“The Shape of Water” won the night with four awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Production Design and Best Score. “Dunkirk” score three wins, while both “Three Billboards” and “Blade Runner 2049” winning two awards each.

Almost all of the wins were along expected lines, but some were widely adored – cinematographer Roger Deakins finally getting his long overdue Oscar, fan favorite Guillermo del Toro taking the Best Director award, James Ivory and Joran Peele winning best screenplay honors making them the oldest Oscar winner to date and the first black Oscar winner for writing, and transgender drama “A Fantastic Woman” scoring best foreign language film.
