(UTV|COLOMBO) – The leave of all Police personnel attached to Jaffna Division in the Northern Province have been cancelled for two weeks by Jaffna Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
The decision was taken due to the prevailing security situation in the area because of the increased activities of the so-called ‘Awa’ group.
Special Police operations are currently underway to arrest the members of the group.
