(UTV|COLOMBO) – Pulitzer and Tony award-winner Tracy Letts (“Lady Bird,” “The Post”) has scored the key role of former Ford Motor Company President Henry Ford II in James Mangold’s “Ford vs. Ferrari” film at 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment.
Christian Bale and Matt Damon are starring in the film about how automotive visionary Carroll Shelby (Damon), British driver Ken Miles (Bale) and a team of American engineers and designers were assembled by Ford with the mission of building a new race car to defeat the dominant Ferrari at the iconic Le Mans World Championship in 1966.
Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Noah Jupe, Paul Sparks and Jack McMullen will also star in the film penned by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth and which will be shot in California.
