(UTV|COLOMBO) – India A coach and Indian stalwart Rahul Dravid feels Yuzvendra Chahal should play more red-ball cricket to gain experience in the longest format of the game and focus on developing his skills for Test cricket.
Leg-spinner Chahal has formed a lethal combination with chinaman Kuldeep Yadav in white-ball cricket but while Kuldeep found a place in India’s Test squad, Chahal is yet to prove himself in that arena.
Dravid feels that Chahal has the skills to excel in red-ball cricket and he is getting the chance to prove himself and play the longest format in the ongoing ‘A’ series against South Africa.
Dravid said that Chahal had a lot of success in white-ball cricket when he toured for ‘A’ series in Australia and he sees no reason that the same can translate into red-ball cricket.
