(UTV|COLOMBO) Windy and showery condition is expected to reduce to some extent over the island from 20th of August.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and fairly heavy falls about 50 mm can be expected at some places.
Several spells of showers will occur in Western province and in Galle and Matara districts.
Few showers may occur in Kurunegala district.
Strong gusty winds up to 50-60 kmph can be expected over the island particularly in Central, North-western, North-central, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Badulla, Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.
