(UTV|COLOMBO) Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter on Wednesday to express his surprise at the Indian selectors’ decision to not include in-form batsman Mayank Agarwal in the squad for Asia Cup 2018.
Harbhajan Singh wrote: “Where is Mayank Agarwal??? After scoring so many runs I don’t see him in the squad …different rules for different people I guess.”
The selectors decided to rest skipper Virat Kohli and in his absence, Rohit Sharma will be leading the Indian cricket team. There were not many surprises in the team with the exception of 20-year old fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed who received his maiden senior team call-up.
Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal has enjoyed a brilliant run of form in this domestic season with over 2000 runs under his belt. He was consistent throughout the Ranji Trophy as well as the Vijay Hazare trophy.
He also scored a double hundred against South Africa A in the four-day match and scored another hundred against India A in the ongoing Quadrangular series.
