(UTV|COLOMBO) – WWE Evolution resulted in a historic pay-per-view on Monday as female wrestlers from the past and present delivered a power packed performance. The night began with Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita making a spectacular return with a victory of Alicia Fox and Mickie James. Nia Jax guaranteed herself a future title shot with an epic win in the Women’s Battle Royal. On the hand, Toni Storm wons 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament final by trouncing Io Shirai.
However, the highlight of the night was the Last Woman Standing match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. It was a brutal and violent match from the start but lived up to the expectations as both the women put their bodies on the line. Tables, ladders, chairs and Kendo Sticks were the weapons used at will by Becky and Flair. However, Flair’s undoing occurred when she went for the moonsault from the top of the ring and Becky quickly took the opportunity to deliver a powerbomb through the table and pick up the win.

In the main event, it was Ronda Rousey who retained her Raw Women’s title with a comprehensive win over Nikki Bella. Despite constant interference by Brie, Rousey did not allow her concentration to waver and in fact delivered a double suplex with both the women on her shoulders at the same time. While Nikki also came back with a surprise Alabama Slamma. But it wasn’t enough as Rousey got the better of her to lock the armbar and pick up the win. The night came to an end with Rousey receiving a rapturous welcome from the entire women’s locker room.
