(UTV|COLOMBO) – Three-time Oscar-nominee Mark Ruffalo has locked down a deal to star in the Todd Haynes-directed legal drama, formerly known as “Dry Run”. Ruffalo was attached as Producer only back in September.
The “Avengers” Actor will play Robert Bilott, a man who had been practising as a Corporate Defence Attorney for eight-years when he took on an environmental suit against chemical company DuPont, which eventually exposed a decades-long history of chemical pollution.
The film will be based on Nathaniel Rich’s New York Times Magazine article “The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare” with a script adapted by Matthew Carnahan (“Deepwater Horizon”) and Mario Correa (“Let Her Speak”).
Pamela Koffler and Christine Vachon will also produce alongside Ruffalo, while Bilott will serve as a consultant on the project.
