Parliament Dissolution: “President’s Gazette unconstitutional”, Supreme Court decides (UPDATE)

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Supreme Court on Thursday (13) has decided the Gazette Notification issued by President Maithripala Sirisena on the dissolution of Parliament, is unconstitutional.

The 7 Judge Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice unanimously rules that Parliament cannot be dissolved until completion of 4 1/2 years.
