(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Government is reportedly studying the possibility of holding all Provincial Councils on the same day.
The terms of the North Central, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern Provincial Councils are set to expire this year, while the terms of all other Provincial Councils will expire next year.
The Government is said to be mulling if it is possible to hold all elections next year, as a means of cutting the electoral expenditure of the Central Government, reportedly.
