(UTV|COLOMBO) – A function offering water to the Jaya Sri Mahabodhi appealing for rain in the catchment areas is due to be held today.
The Ceylon Electricity Board organizes this function annually and a procession of vehicles carrying pots of water is due to reach Galkulama temple by 3.00 pm.
Subsequently, this procession will reach the Ruwanweli Seya and this offering will be made tonight at the Jaya Sri Mahabodhi.
