(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police have taken measures to establish Special Operations Unit in all provinces for the public to obtain information in an emergency situation.
The Operations Units have been set up following directives issued by the Inspector General of Police under the guidance of all Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police.
The Office of the Police Media Spokesman said the public will be able to obtain information in a crisis situation adding the public can also forward any information pertaining to the prevailing security situation.
Meanwhile steps have been taken to set up five operations units in the Western Province.
The Office of the Police Media Spokesman has also introduced several contact numbers for the Operations Units.
