Mahinda Rajapakse summoned before the PRECIFAC

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former President Parliamentarian (MP) Mahinda Rajapaksa has been summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PRECIFAC) today (16th Thursday).

The Former President was summoned to record a statement over alleged financial discrepancies reported at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation pertaining to advertisements published during the 2015 Presidential Election.

MP Rajapaksa was requested to appear before the Commission at 10 this morning.

Meanwhile the brother of Former Minister of Internal Trade Johnston Fernando has also been summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry over financial discrepancies reported at the Consumer Affairs Authority.

The investigation is being conducted over the loss of over 1.8 million rupees.

The individual held the post of Director of the Authority during the tenure of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led government.
