(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed Courts today that it has been revealed the squad operated under the then head of Intelligence Unit Major General Kapila Hendawitharana carried out the murder of Lasantha Wickramatunga and the attacks on several journalists.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that journalist Lasantha Wickramatunga has been killed not by shooting but by attacking his head with a particular object.
This has been divulged by the forensic medical test done on the remains of Lasantha Wicramatunga.
After the courts proceedings today (21st Tuesday), attorney-at-law who appeared for the plaintiff Athula S Ranagala further described the details in this manner.
