A strong NO from EU to death penalty

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The European Union Heads of Missions have reiterated their strong opposition of the EU and its Member States to capital punishment in all circumstances and in all cases.

The Delegation of the European Union in Sri Lanka in a statement said the heads of missions met with a group of United National Party  (UNP) parliamentarians today to discuss the death penalty.

Accordingly the Head of EU nations have reiterated their call to Sri Lanka to maintain its moratorium on the death penalty with a view towards complete abolition.
