(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Daniel Cormier has become the first UFC fighter to predict a bloodbath for Conor McGregor in his proposed super fight against Floyd Mayweather.
The UFC light heavyweight champion has warned McGregor could die if he steps into the ring to trade punches with the undefeated boxing champion.
Most UFC commentators and fighters have predicted McGregor would be able to at least hold his own against Mayweather, while boxing legends, including Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jnr, have all predicted Mayweather would stop the Irishman in the opening few rounds.
Cormier has become the first UFC fighter to break rank and speak out against his own kind.
“Floyd kills him,” Cormier said told ESPN while promoting his fight against Anthony Johnson at UFC 210.
“Conor McGregor can’t box Floyd Mayweather. Let’s be real with ourselves. Neither one of these guys can do the other guy’s sport.”
