(UTV|COLOMBO) – The SLT Speedup Cycle Sawariya ceremonially commenced at the Galle Face Green yesterday in the presence of Group Chairman of SLT Kumarasinghe Sirisena, Chief Executive Officer of SLT Kiththi Perera, Chief Operating Officer of SLT Priyantha Fernandez, Chief Marketing Officer of SLT Prabhath Dahanayake and the president of the Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL)N. Karunaratne along with a number of distinguished guests, SLT’s senior management and officers of CFSL, Sri Lanka Police and Sri Lanka Telecom.
The cyclists will travel through Panadura, Ratnapura, and finish at Embilipitiya.
The winner of day one was Sandun Kumara of Sri Lanka Navy team. The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Sujith Hasantha of Sri Lanka Ports Authority team and Chamod de Silva of Sri Lanka Ports Authority team respectively. The second day of the race starts at 9am today from Embilipitiya and will travel through Wellawaya and reach Bandarawela. (Courtesy – DN)
