(UTV|COLOMBO) – A Memorandum of Understanding between the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was signed this morning.
The ceremony was held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo.
Several senior representatives from both parties, including Acting Chairman of the SLFP Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa and National Organizer of the Podujana Peramuna former Minister Basil Rajapaksa were present at the occasion.
The SLFP yesterday decided to support the Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the 2019 Presidential Election.
President Maithripala Sirisena however had decided to remain neutral, until the conclusion of the Presidential poll.
