Motorcycles banned on Dehiwala flyover

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Motorcycles are prohibited from using the Dehiwala flyover due to an increasing number of accidents, police said.

They said the Mt. Lavinia Division Road Safety Committee and the Ratmalana RDA had taken a decision to prohibit motorcyclists using the Dehiwala flyover from October 10 considering the number of accidents which were on the rise on the flyover.

Police said that the motorcyclists are still using the flyover despite being not advised to do so.

However, all motorcycles would be banned from traveling on the flyover with effect from yesterday (13th Oct, 2019).

I deeply condemn this activity. In Sri Lanka accidents
occurs every where. Not only in Dehiwala flyover. I deeply condemn this activity and further legal action should take against motorcyclist discrimination from the society from Mt. Lavinia Division Road Safety Committee and the Ratmalana RDA.
