Rs.10mn to be allocated for youth forums- PM

(UTv|COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says steps will be taken to provide Rs.10 million annually to organise youth forums island wide.

Speaking at an event Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the government aims to garner the support of the youth for the country’s development through the implementation of the initiative.

The Premier meanwhile stressed on the need to exposing youth to the competitive world through higher education and vocational training.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe noted the effort to make Sri Lanka the central hub of the Indian Ocean cannot be achieved by chanting slogans but by challenging decisions with the support of the youth.

The Premier claimed the country could experience an economic and cultural boost through such initiatives.
