(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Chairman of the National Elections Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya yesterday (31) assured that the final result of the forthcoming Presidential Election will be released by noon on 18 November.
He made this remarks addressing a media breifing at the Media Centre of the Election Secretariat in Rajagiriya.
However, if a 2nd count of preferential votes was required, then the result would be announced by the evening of that day, Deshapriya stated.
He further stressed that the counting of postal votes would commence at 5.15 PM on the Election Day and the counting of other votes would commence at 7.00 PM.
