AG accuses Police of inaction over case involving J. Sri Ranga

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Attorney General (AG) Dappula De Livera has accused the Police of inaction in the case involving former Parliamentarian J. Sri Ranga.

The Coordinating Officer to the AG, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne stated that the AG has sent a letter to the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), C. D. Wickramaratne instructing the Police to record statements from Sri Ranga and former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Amarasiri Senarathna over the case.

He has also instructed the Police to submit complete IB extracts within 3-months.

The AG had last month instructed the Police to arrest Sri Ranga and 5 others over a fatal accident occurred in 2011.
