SLFPers have rallied to support Sajith-Thushara

(UTv|COLOMBO) – United National Party Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil claims that many supporters of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party have rallied together to support Presidential Candidate of the New Democratic Front Sajith Premadasa.

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo yesterday, the MP said former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga joining Sajith Premadasa’s camp is a major win.

The MP noted that although parts of the SLFP have already joined Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s camp and formed an alliance, those SLFPers have to attend Gotabaya’s rallies in secrecy.

The Parliamentarian reiterated that many who love the SLFP, feel the need to protect it, including Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, believe that today is a special day to strengthen the SLFP’s political campaign.

Furthermore, Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil noted that Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa has not yet responded to a request for an open debate, despite both candidates having published their manifesto.

The MP pointed out that they unveiled their manifesto beside the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

He added that Sajith Premadasa has presented a list of propositions to tackle the prevalent problems.

Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil reiterated that Gotabaya Rajapaksa has released his policy statement and added that Sajith Premadasa has also released his.

Although Sajith Premadasa requested Gotabaya Rajapaksa to an open debate pertaining to the election manifestos of both candidates, MP Thushara Indunil stressed that, Gotabaya has not accepted the challenge of Sajith Premadasa to date. (NR)
