Minorities are safe under Sajith’s leadership – Minister Rishad

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Certain elements are trying to suppress minority communities by attempting to destroy their economy and making us their slaves, ACMC leader and Minister Rishad Bathiutheen said.

“All these obstacles can be overcome only when we elect NDF Presidential candidate Sajith Premedasa as the President of Sri Lanka. This would also pave the way for us to have an independent life and a feeling of independence sans any constrains and pressure.

Minister Bathiutheen was speaking at a public meeting held in Akkaraipattu in the presence of a large gathering in support of NDF’s Presidential candidate Sajith Premedasa recently.

Bathiutheen said the time has now come to unite minorities together as all extremist groups have joined together to suppress minorities the way they want. We must be very careful in exercising our franchise to an appropriate personality who could guide us for a better life.

Every one of us should realise that the Muslim community is in danger. Our security and safety should be assured and this is guaranteed only by the NDF’s Presidential candidate Sajith Premedasa. We can trust on our leader Sajith Premedasa who understands the pulse of the Muslim and Tamil communities. So we all must rally round him and strengthen his hands.

Certain groups are trying to divert the minds of our innocent people spreading rumours that “Rajapaksa’s will be the winners in the battle, if we don’t support them and will have to face innumerable inconveniences. We should teach them a good lesson. We also should tell them that we Muslims are always peace lovers and never encourage violence or extremism. At this crucial election, if we don’t take a wise decision, we will have to face the consequences and also will be recorded in the historical error. We have shown our unanimity against their power and strength, wealth, forces and all other resources during the last Presidential election. Similarly, this trend should be shown in the oncoming election too. If we fail in this attempt, we will have to regret later.
