Novak Djokovic puts down his racket to try his hand at Cricket and Football – [Images]

(UDHAYAM, MELBOURNE) – Novak Djokovic has put his racket to one side to try his hand at Australian Rules football, cricket, basketball and soccer (football, to our English readers) ahead of the upcoming Open.

The world No 2 is gearing up for the Australian Open, where he will be hoping to win the competition for a seventh time.

He looked in high spirits as he took part in A Night with Novak at the Margaret Court Arena getting to grips with a range of different sports.

Djokovic jokingly wrestled with Melbourne Demons footballer Max Gawn at the home of the Australian Open.

The 29-year-old also showed off his football skills by working his magic with his left foot and juggling the ball behind his head, while he was not afraid to play wheelchair tennis.

He said on Instagram: ‘My heart is filled with joy and gratitude after tonight’s #NightWithNovak event in the organisation of @australianopen .

‘A big THANK YOU for all of you taking part in this event, watching, sharing this good cause and donating.’

Tennis superstar Djokovic was not afraid to pick up a cricket bat as well as he was given a batting and bowling masterclass by Australia legend Shane Warne.

Djokovic starred in the free charity gala ahead of the highly anticipated tournament in order to raise money for his foundation.

The Novak Djokovic Foundation supports quality pre-school education for children.

Tickets sold out in hours and spectators were also treated to a show put on by Cirque du Soleil performers.
