(UTV|COLOMBO) – The travel ban that was imposed on the female employee attached to the Switzerland Embassy in Colombo, who was allegedly detained and threatened by unknown persons last month, concludes today (09).
The travel ban was imposed on the said employee by the Colombo Chief Magistrate on 03 December.
Following the Court order, the Embassy employee yesterday (08) recorded a 2-hour long statement with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The Embassy employee had arrived at the CID escorted by the Officials attached to the Switzerland Embassy around 5.00 last evening.
Officers attached to the CID commenced investigations pertaining to the incident after a complaint was made over an incident where a female employee attached to the Switzerland Embassy in Colombo was allegedly detained against her will on the street and threatened at length in an attempt to pressure her into releasing information.
