CID to hand over Swiss Embassy reports to Court

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will today (12) hand over several reports to the Colombo Chief Magistrate on the female employee of the Switzerland Embassy in Colombo who was allegedly detained against her will on the street and threatened at length in an attempt to pressure her into releasing information.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had ordered the CID to inform Court if the female employee was subject to any physical abuse or assault and was also requested to obtain a medical report on her mental health condition and report to Court today.

Accordingly the employee was produced before the Colombo Chief Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) by the CID and subsequently to a Psychiatrist.

Meanwhile, the employee of the Switzerland Embassy will be produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today.

The investigative reports by the CID will also be produced in Court today.

The female employee of the Switzerland Embassy recorded a statement with the CID on 3 consecutive days over several hours.

She was also produced before the Colombo JMO twice on Court orders.

The overseas travel ban imposed on her is due to expire today.
