(UTV|COLOMBO) – The government has decided to develop and create suitable markets for rural small scale industries.
Speaking to a prominent online news portal State Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said the first step towards this purpose is the suspension of importing goods that are manufactured locally.
The State Minister added the move was an initial step to support industrialists, adding that they have benefitted as a result.
State Minister Abeywardena noted the decision was reached in order to uplift industries, claiming that the government will also provide concessions to local businesses adding that for this purpose economic centres will also be declared open.
