(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Education Dullas Alahapperuma says racial differences must be set aside and all communities must unite as Sri Lankans.
The Minister speaking at a function said a majority of Lankans cannot converse in Tamil due to the past political systems and other various shortcomings.
Minister Alahapperuma said Sri Lanka is a small island with a small popularity and two languages.
The Minister said it is regretful therefore that a majority of Lankans cannot converse in Tamil. He stressed the country must unite and move forward as a nation.
