(UTV|COLOMBO) – Transfer of the former Minister, Parliamentarian Dr. Rajitha Senaratne from a private hospital to the Prison Hospital has been suspended.
Although the Prison Ambulance arrived yesterday (29), the move was suspended.
A recommendation has been put forth to transfer Senaratne, who is presently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo to the Prisons Hospital.
He is presently in remand custody under the protection of Prison Officials.
Senaratne, who is in the Cardiac Unit of the hospital, was visited by a Doctor of the Prisons Hospital yesterday who following observations recommended that the Parliamentarian be transferred to the Prisons Hospital.
Senaratne, was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Friday (27) over the controversial alleged ‘White Van’ abductions media briefing, and was remanded till today (30).
