Special traffic plan in Colombo on May 11, 12

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A special traffic plan will be in effect in Colombo during the visit of Indian Prime Minister, who will arrive here for the United Nations (UN) International Vesak Festival, Police Headquarters said.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 6.00 PM on Thursday (11). According to the Police, all the following routes and the by roads will be closed during the times he is travelling.

He will leave for Gangaramaya at 6.15. PM from BIA through Katunayake Expressway, Peliyagoda, Baseline Road, Borella, D. S. Junction, Greeen Path, Nelum, Pokuna, Library Roundabout, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Flower Road, Pittala Junction, and James Peries Mawatha.

He will leave for Hotel Taj Samudra from Gangaramaya at 7.15 through Nawam Mawatha, Uththarananda Mawatha, Mohomad Makan Marker Mawatha, and Galle Face Roundabout.

At 8.20 PM, Premier Modi will leave for the President’s House from the Hotel on Galle Face road via N.S.A. Roundabout. He will return around 10.30 PM on the same route.

On Friday (12) he will leave for BMICH from the Hotel at 9.05 AM through Galle Face Roundabout, Collpetty Junction, Liberty Junction, Pittala Junction, Red Cross Junction, Library Junction, Glass House Junction, Nanada Motors, Independence Roundabout, Independent Square, Nidahas Mawatha, Maitland Place Junction, and Bauddhaloka Mawatha.

At 10.50 AM, Premier Modi will leave BMICH for Helipad at Police Field Force Headquarters through Baddhaloka Mawatha, Jawatta Road, Keppetipola Junction, and Keppetipola Mawatha.

The lane from Katunayake towards Colombo will be closed on Thursday (11) from 5.45 PM until Premier Modi exit from the Katunayake expressway. All vehicles towards Katunayake will be permitted to use the expressway.
