Himalayan-set, Indian “Rambo” remake revealed

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Several years ago, Original Entertainment closed a five-picture deal with Millennium Films for Bollywood remakes of several of their properties – “Rambo,” “The Expendables,” cop drama “Brooklyn’s Finest,” Bruce Willis thriller “16 Blocks” and the widely panned Al Pacino vehicle “88 Minutes”.

Now, the first of those projects is moving forward. Announced at the Cannes Film Market with the poster art, Indian actor and martial arts expert Tiger Shroff will lead the Indian remake of the “Rambo” franchise which appears to shift the action to Kashmir.

The story follows the last surviving member of an elite covert unit of the Indian Armed forces who returns home to discover a war waging in his own land. Forced into the dangerous jungles and frozen mountains of the Himalayas, he unleashes mayhem and destruction, becoming the unstoppable machine he was trained to be.

Siddharth Anand is directing the project which will begin shooting in February next year. Stallone recently gave his support to the project with comments on social media.
