(UDHAYAM, UNITED STATES) – The President-elect mistook a woman in the United Kingdom for his 35-year-old daughter while proudly live-tweeting her interview airing on CNN Monday night.
“@Ivanka Trump is great, a woman with real character and class,” read a tweet Trump shared from Massachusetts chiropractor Lawrence Goodstein, whose account has since gone private amid the publicity.
His daughter’s longtime Twitter handle is @IvankaTrump – not @Ivanka, an account used by Ivanka Majic. Trump failed to correct his daughter’s username while editing Goodstein’s original tweet: adding a comma and lowercasing “Great.”
It’s unclear if the blunder inundated Majic’s phone with thousands of notifications in the dead of night – around 2 a.m. local time in the UK. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The social media misfire has apparently been plaguing Majic for at least six years, she wrote in 2010, and has only gotten worse as Trump plugged away at his White House bid.
“Too many Twitter notifications meant for Ivanka Trump rather than me,” she wrote in Feb. 2016. “I fear it will only get worse.”
Majic, a self-described Labor party supporter in her Twitter profile, takes the repeated case of mistaken identity with humor. She told someone she preferred Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton while responding to a user slamming Nordstrom’s for refusing to boycott Ivanka Trump’s fashion line.
In another tweet, she invited someone who failed to snag the coveted coffee date with Ivanka Trump – which was eventually nixed – to join her instead for a cup of java in her seaside city of Brighton.
Meanwhile, the real Ivanka was busy on date night as her doting father tweeted at the wrong Ivanka.
She posed in front of a string of lights overlooking E. 56th St. and 5th Ave, across the street from Trump Tower, according to a photo she shared Monday night.
