(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Union veteran and former Labor Minister Greg Combet has weighed into the cricket pay dispute, accusing the sport’s governing body of bringing a business philosophy to the stalled negotiations.
The Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) has recruited Mr. Combet to advise on industrial strategy, marking a dramatic escalation in hostilities that threaten to derail this year’s Ashes Series and throw international competition into disarray.
“It seems like Cricket Australia is not prepared to respect the players, as a collective, who want to have a say in the game,” he said.
