Kevin Pietersen to quit English cricket to concentrate on conservation work

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Kevin Pietersen will bid farewell to English cricket this summer when his stint in the NatWest Blast playing for Surrey comes to an end.

Pietersen revealed that this would be his last summer playing in England as his life moves in different directions.

He has two more years to run on his Big Bash contract with the Melbourne Stars and has signed up as one of the overseas players in the new South Africa Twenty20 (T20) Global league that launches this year.

Pietersen turns 37 next week and even though he still intends to carry on playing around the world, he will not be available for county cricket next summer as he intends to spend the time building a new house near Kruger National Park and become more involved in wildlife conservation programmes.
