(UDHAYAM, DAVOS) – World famous Chinese e-Commerce company Alibaba has shown keen interest on investing in Sri Lanka and building an e-Commerce platform in the island.
Issuing a communiqué, the Ministry of Finance said Founder and Chairman of Alibaba Jack Ma shown his interest during a meeting with Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake on the sidelines of the 2017 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
During the meeting, Jack Ma said he will take immediate action to start investment in Sri Lanka.
He also pointed out that his proposed investment will generate hundreds of employment opportunities to the youth in the island.
