(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena says that he has appointed Presidential Commission of Inquiry to probe bond issue with an intention to provide maximum punishment to the culprits.
The President reputed the claims by some elements who said that the commission is intended to hide the incidents. He said that he had quit the previous corrupted regime in order to bring a clean rule. The president was speaking at a function held yesterday at Narahenpita Abeyrama Viharaya.
People’s representatives should serve the public in a responsible manner. But, the President said that, the parliament debate on the bond issue was only restricted to mutual allegations yesterday. He said that he is ready to take legal action against the culprits within two years of time.
In the event, President unveiled an 54 feet Aukana Buddha Statue at Abeyrama Viharaya.
