UTV | COLOMBO – Eight women arrested for gambling
Police have arrested eight women for gambling at a house in Relagama in Weligama.
The arrests were made yesterday (Feb. 07) following a tip-off.
Primary investigations revealed that five of the arrested women have already been charged for various other offences.
The women are aged between 17 and 35 years, and their husbands are fishermen.
Police said that those women have engaged in gambling after their husbands have left homes.
